Serving Cleveland & Northeast OhioCall CLEInspection

Licensed lead testing across Northeast Ohio

Cleveland lead risk assessments for residential and commercial properties.

We assess homes, apartment and multifamily buildings, and commercial properties for current lead hazards—not simply whether lead-based paint exists somewhere in the building.

Property Watch is included for Cleveland certificate work.

Every Cleveland Lead Safe inspection or clearance examination completed by CLEInspection includes Property Watch through the property’s two-year certification period—a $198 value.

Property Watch monitors selected records and deadlines. It does not guarantee that a property remains physically lead-safe or replace official notices and owner responsibilities.

01

Visual assessment

The inspector evaluates painted surfaces, friction and impact areas, visible dust, bare soil, and other conditions that may create exposure.

02

Environmental sampling

Required dust-wipe and soil samples are collected based on the property and inspection scope, then submitted for laboratory analysis.

03

Hazard findings

The findings identify conditions that currently present a lead hazard and distinguish them from intact painted surfaces.

04

Recommended next steps

The report explains what needs attention and whether repair, lead-safe renovation, or clearance testing may be appropriate.

Common questions about lead risk assessment.

CLEInspection serves Cleveland, Greater Cleveland, and Northeast Ohio. Send the property address to confirm the correct inspection and service area before scheduling.

What does a Cleveland lead risk assessment evaluate?

A risk assessment evaluates current lead hazards through a visual assessment and the environmental sampling required for the property and inspection scope.

Is a risk assessment the same as a lead-paint inspection?

No. A risk assessment evaluates current hazards. A lead-paint inspection identifies whether lead-based paint is present and where it is located. Some projects require both.

Can a lead risk assessment be used for Cleveland Lead Safe Certification?

For many eligible Cleveland rental properties, a licensed risk assessment is the standard starting path. The City reviews the completed documentation and makes the final certificate decision.

Can I order a risk assessment for more than one unit?

Yes. Enter the building's total units and identify the units to include. The first standard unit is $499 and additional same-building units inspected during the same coordinated visit are $399 each. CLEInspection confirms required units, common areas, exterior areas, and sampling before the appointment.
